The guitar is arguably the instrument that has had the most influence in defining the sound of contemporary music, but to the uninitiated, it can be a bewildering jungle of brand names, gadgetry and, let’s face it, downright snobbery. There are now more ways to record an electric guitar than we could ever have dreamed of in the past, but open any guitar magazine or read any internet forum and you will see the same names and the same vintage models being talked about time after time.
