W ith mobile recording and laptop studios now more popular than ever, there has inevitably been a lot of development in the arena of small, ultra-portable, buss-powered interfaces. Traditionally better known for its synthesizers, Novation had already moved into this market to some extent with its multi-functional XioSynth and
X-Station keyboards. Now the company has unveiled a dedicated interface aimed at DJs, small studios and those on the move: the nio 2 | 4, a tiny, 2-in,
4-out USB-powered unit that packs a lot of functionality into its miniscule frame.
